So I was curious what others have said to you while you read the book?

Here are mine so far.. (mind you I've been in a snarky mood for the last few weeks so my response wasn't the most conversationally provoking..)

Austin: He picked up the book and read about.. 4 words and said "is this a girl book?" Yes.. only girls want to be happy.
Kyle: "That looks like a cool book." I said it is, not snarky there.. but mainly because I have thought HE should be reading it.. we're having some self improvement issues but that's another thread.
DH: "So did you figure out the secret?" then he looks over my shoulder where I'm reading February.. dedicated to marriage. "So I really like that one" (points at 'Quit Nagging') I laughed and said .. "amazingly in this entire chapter that's the only one that applies to me" .. LOL

I don't have the book yet but I like to read books that help me be a better person. I tend to be a tad narcissistic and it's something I try to work on all the time. (Long story, not important here). I am currently ready the 100 secrets of Happy People and the 100 Secrets of Happy Relationships. The RGH never comments. I have even given him a book to read a few times and he reads them. He may not do any of the stuff but he reads it to please me.
As for nagging, well, we all have our crosses to bear, eh Tony? LOL ;)

The funny part is he's told me before it's ok to nag him.. he knows he has ADD. I get mad at him sometimes about the nagging because if I don't nag him he doesn't do what needs to be done. I'm not talking about the authors things like not nagging and then her DH doesn't help with valentines cards..but the most recent incident of our nagging conversation was a few weeks ago when a TV needed to be repaired. I asked him to move the TV to the room where it will be.. (why have a TV fixed upstairs THEN move it downstairs where it could easily be joggled and need to be fixed again? It's a really fragile TV and we were discussing how maybe moving it caused this piece to come loose.. we have no idea why it stopped working but it worked before we moved it) so I asked if he could move the TV downstairs to the room it's going to reside permanently. Then I asked the next day if he wanted to go move it, nope.. and then that evening I asked if he needed help besides me or Austin to do it, because his dad may be coming over the next day for Zach.. he then tells me he'll get it.. in the tone of quit nagging me.

The conversation then goes into how I hate nagging him. (I really do and was never a nagger by nature. He knows I nag because he forgets, and he's ASKED me to nag so he doesn't. Like when he forgets something he'll tell me I should have reminded him... and when I say I hate nagging he says 'but I forget'.. so he's realistic about his limitations with memory ;) lol)

Back to the story.. I said "Ok I will not mention the TV again. The repair guy will be here Monday AM." And I didn't mention the TV again. And the repair guy was here Monday AM, fixing the TV upstairs...

I'm not sure if it makes the story funnier to know that I wanted to leave the TV where it is to begin with, and he is the one that wanted to move it downstairs in the first place?

Anyway I have decided that I do want to stop nagging even though DH honestly doesn't mind most of the times (the above really was an exception, he's been stressed at work). So I am going to work on putting together my "grand central" spot in the house where lists will go and I'll just put it on the lists.. I'm thinking chore lists for the kids, a "house" list for things needing done around here and then a general chore list for whole house.. (last one mainly for when the boys act like turds I can tell them to go do the next house chore LOL)

ok sorry i have so many things going on in my head I start rambling, hijacking threads, and spewing random information LOL stay tuned it'll happen again shortly I'm sure!

My girls were mostly just curious. No comments from John yet but i would be interested to know what he is thinking.
I've talked about it with several women and most have been "tell me that name again.. I think i need that too!"
