Well after a hectic week and crazy start to my day I could use a happiness moment so here I am catching up. Hey it only the 13th of the month I am so NOT behind ha ha.

I have been doing pretty darn good on past months goals so I am feeling pretty good there. Keeping up on the day to day stuff. Rewarding myself with "playtime" when I get jobs done. Not seeking approval blatantly or underhandedly. The cooking is a little lacking but as our year kicks into high gear I am going to have to kick that into gear for some new quick meals. Last month I did not do particularly well on. I had trouble putting a regular timed quiet time in to my irregular schedule but was pleasantly reminded of it from a few outside sources so I am still working with that goal.

This month is all about taking time for your passions and mine have come around full swing! So I am doing a lot with my passion which is scrapbooking and teaching. I have been invited to teach live in two separate settings, have continued to be published monthly at Scrapbooking.com, was accepted to the Intermediate Certification class for Copic Markers and am teaching my Hand lettering and prepping a Copic class here! Besides all that I am taking an entire weekend this month to revel in my passion with some of my absolute most favorite people! Oh Yeah Vegas Baby! So every spare minute for me right now is doing exactly what I love the most and that brings me the most joy! Thank you Debbie for being such an ENORMOUS part of that! I think the one thing I am setting as a goal is to keep on top of things enough so that I can also continue scrapping for myself a little and have time to check out Debbie's newest format, I am dying to get over there!

Happy September all! Take time this month to pursue your passion!

Michelle, I have found the meal planning very unorganized also. I am currently looking at some recipe organizing/meal planning software. There are also several menu planning services online that seem really well put together and not very expensive. They generate meal plans based on your families needs and give you recipes and grocery lists. Dave Ramsey recommends one. I think it's ez meals or something. I liked the look of Stolen Moments. I was thinking of getting a subscription for my dd, who like you has kids and is very busy. You might check it out.

October is already halfway through! I did read though and I have been working on my goal for the month. This month Gretchen is trying to be more mindful. Just more in the moment. Not driving from point A to B and realizing you are not sure how you got there :frogunsure: Not like that EVER happens to me or anything! So that is my one goal for the month, be more mindful. And has the month has whipped by it has gone fast but I have slowed down several times to take time out to appreciate what is around me and how blessed I am. Obviously this overlaps a lot with previous months but again to be aware of the moment is always harder to do and put into practice so it is a work in progress. Two more months to go! Where has the year gone?

I'll be so happy when it's 2011. I have been writing 2011 on dated forms all year. Somehow I just skipped 2010.

Are you wondering if I gave up with only two months to go?! No chance dear friends. I just decided to skip November, not the chapter just the month :frogwink: So I am tackling chapter 11 in December as we speak and it is a perfect chapter to tackle this month. I love December and am a happy person no matter what this month so it has been fun to challenge myself with a couple litlle things to boost the happieness of an already joyful season. Gretchen tackled 4 areas in her month and i am picking up a couple of her ideas.
One of which is to Laugh Out Loud. The idea of not holding the giggles in weather at your self or with others around you but to truly laugh out loud. I come from a long line of laughers and it has felt great this month to reclaim that part of my past. i really do love to laugh, I think I had just quieted it down in the past several years.
Another is Using Good Manners. One key area Gretchen looks at is how she speaks to others. I have a similar habit of not always being a good listener, I am a great storyteller but I often so not return the favor and ask for then listen to the others story. I want to be better at this ans I am making a VERY conscious go of it this month. I am determined to ask for others stories and doings and listen quietly not interjecting my own tales.
So far both of these are going very well and boosting my already very happy month. Next month I will be summing up. I have enjoyed the journey thoroughly!

OMG!!! I totally could have written this. I seriously STRUGGLE to listen instead of thinking what I want to say next. It's a terrible habit that I have been working on for awhile. I haven't started my project yet but I am glad it covers this. And Michelle, I never would have guessed this about you. You seem to be a wonderful listener to me.
