Ok not really a mini-book but was told it was good to post here :)

Here is a clipboard I made a few years back. It's great for several holiday things..

Obviously to countdown to christmas (or whatever holiday theme you decorate it in)
The clipboard part is great to hold
~a few christmas cards
~the current year's Santa snapshot
~Gift lists
~Holiday menus

and one idea is to put a gift on the clipboard each day.. little things like a coupon for a chore free day or a 1/2 hour pass on staying up late or playing video games.. a $5 blockbuster card or something of the kind. Give the coupons away to the kiddos when they do something extra special that day that shows the holiday spirit.. like helping out, giving a gift, or just being nice :)

Here are some photos of the end project:

Here's a quick how-to:

Supplies:
clipboard
pop dots
photo turns
ribbon
themed paper
stamps or letter stickers
themed embellishment

1. Choose your background paper (for this image it was the snow people) Place paper printed side down (if double sided put the side you want to show down towards the table)
2. To cut a space for the clip section (ok stay with me I know this sounds more difficult than it is)
a) flip the clipboard over so it's clip side up
B) lay the cut paper you have just under the clip
c) line up the sides to make sure it's striaght
d) use a pencil and draw marks on your paper on the left and right of the clip
e) rotate the paper 180 degrees so the top you just made marks on is now at the bottom of the clipboard
f) line the paper up to the clip again (this time the edge of the paper you are lining up to the clip is the bottom of the paper since you rotated it)
g) now take a pencil and mark the paper at the edge of the bottom of the clipboard (which is the top of the paper since it's still rotated)
h) rotate the paper back 180 degrees so the top is again the top and the bottom is the bottom. On the top you should have three marks, a left, right & bottom mark showing the rectangle that needs to be cut out to fit the clip
i) cut this piece out
3. Using modge podge, apply a layer to the clipboard (on the clip side) making sure to be extra careful not to get any on the clip itself
4. Place your cut background on to the clipboard
5. At this time you can continue to layer papers until you achieve your desired result using modge podge. Allow to dry
6. Pop-dot (for dimension) a larger embellishment on to the clipboard to the left and a little lower than center. Leave room for title.
7. Create a photo mat (I just chose one a size slightly larger than the tags I was using) and adhere two photo turns to the mat.
8. Adhere photo mat to clipboard leaving room for a title under
9. Add title and embellish as you wish.
10. Add ribbon to the clip to allow it to hang.
11. Make as many tags as you'd like, my countdown only goes to 12 and I used precut tags from this paper line. Though you could decorate & embellish each tag as you wish. I also used stamps for the number and added matching ribbon.

voila!

I used Daisy D's paper line from a few years back it was called Misletoe.. I did a few googles and some stores still carry some of it, however other lines will work. Target has started carrying Making Memoriesand has their FaLaLa line and I think that would be great to use.. it even has a sheet of numbers to use for counting down. (the large jingle bells aren't shown on Daisy D's website but I believe it was vintage christmas line.

Here are two lines from My Minds Eye that have some cute die cuts that would work as well: Be Merryand Snowed In

Here is a line by K&Co. that may be at Michaels and has lots of extras to use to embellish.. it's called Christmas Cheer

I realize it's not fair and I wont find as many links but here are non-christmas lines.. hope it helps
Here is a line for Hanukka that you could do a 12 days clipboard.. the line is by EK Success(you have to put Hanukka in the search engine)

Ok found this as well wanted to share: [urlhttp://www.shalomscrapper.com/browseproducts/Index.html]Shalomscrapper[/url]

this is great --- maybe I'll post what the Nick 25 Days of Christmas special is each day. lol --- my youngest uses that as his countdown (and a good try and staying up late in December). SEriously, I think there are so many ways to use this.
