Digital frames are a fun way to add interest to your pages and there are thousands of them out there! I've used a bunch of different ons for different effects.

My first example shows a freebie frame that is available on the Designer Digitals site right now -(Andrea Victoria Freebie):

Posted Image

I resized the frame to make it work with a 4x6 photo - I think it looks great. I love the fact that I have my title included in the frame - all I had to do was add journaling and some paper and I was practically done!

This is what I did:
1. Create a 4x6 canvas in photoshop (ctrl N, dimensions 4x6, 300 dpi)
2. Drag my photo on to the canvas and resize to fit.
3. Drag the frame on top of the photo layer and resize to fit also.
4. Save and print.

It's just that easy!

Check out the Challenge Gallery for more examples of digital frames - I've posted some for 4x6s, some larger.

Post your challenge layouts in the gallery to be eligible to win a prize - yes, there is another prize!! This time I have a fun Doodlebug kit to give away

Ok I'll fess up..

I didn't even realize that was a printed frame.. I read it.. looked .. and was wondering "what's the frame.. it's matted in white cardstock" then saw the letters.. still didn't realize it was a frame thought it was letter stickers..

I'm slow on the uptake today LOL but after I realized .. I thought .. ok

Letter stickers $4.99
White Cardstock $.50
Avoiding having to line up those letters or cut a matte.. priceless

Hi Paula, Just a quick question. I've done this and everything looks fine in PSE and once saved as a jpeg picture but when I print it out as a 6x4 on my printer it all but cuts off the white border. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong.

It could be a function of your printer Jane. I have an Epson PictureMate that has a layout option that automatically defaults to maximum expansion. With that setting the edges get cut off. I reset te Expansion option to minimum and it prints with the border. You printer might have a similar setting. Did you check to see what it looked like in print preview? I've had this problem when I've printed from local developing stores, so I generally do a test print first.

Is anyone else haveing trouble getting to the freebies section at Designer Digitals? I have been trying for two days now and can not get there. Very Frustrating Posted Image It just says there is an error on the page, that Paula has linked too and then if I back out and try to go to the freebies in general it also is an error. Me or ongoing problem?

FIRST off, ok, I didn't see at first Paula that you described where you got your frame from in the description of the layout...doh Posted Image

AND secondly, I had trouble accessing the designer-digitals site too, turns out you have to register to access the freebie--it's a quick and easy (free) process {SMILIES_PATH}/cool.gif

FINALLY, I did it!! Posted Image I lovelovelove that frame! Here's my layout!

Thanks Paula. It was the printer - I spent some rather frustrating time fiddling with it until I gave up in disgust and finally used the other very basic one we have which worked like a charm. Now done and in the gallery.

Got mine posted too. I used mine for one of the assignments in Cathy Z's class. I used an Ali E frame. Great challenge!! That's the first time I had a frame like that and I really like how it turned out.
